1973 marks the year that the Roe v. Wade decision was made by the Supreme Court. The heated debate has never ceased; to this day, there is a strong division between those who support and those who oppose this decision. It is a polarizing topic and people are often unable to sympathize with opposing views on the issue.
Many individuals are disgusted with this nation’s complete disregard for human life. They are not only disturbed by the physical act of abortion, but by the flippant way that people declare that this act is morally acceptable. Despite this conviction, they begin to let the voices of society creep in and convince them that if they are pro-life, then they are subsequently anti-woman. They are told to mind their business and leave “medical decisions” up to the woman and her doctor. They are never told that they can love the woman AND at the same time, the child that she carries.
Psalm 139:13 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” In verse 15, it goes on to say, “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.”
Before you were even born, God knew you. He made each and every person in His image, breathing life into them. If you believe in Jesus Christ and have decided to follow Him, then you must also believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and that all parts, not just the parts that you like and make you feel good, are true and right. You must believe that God’s word is the supreme authority and that all of our beliefs and decisions should be rooted in it.
If you are a Christ-follower, you should be deeply disturbed by the way that Hillary Clinton proudly proclaims that she is pro-choice. If a President does not believe in the right to life for EVERYONE, born or unborn, how can you trust anything that he or she says thereafter? If a candidate’s stance blatantly conflicts with the word of God, how can you say “I am with her”? It is an issue that cannot be overlooked.
Hillary Clinton takes pride in her stance. She demonizes those who take God’s word at face value and believe that an unborn child is just that: a child, not a bundle of cells. Clinton brags about her life, saying that she has tirelessly fought to protect women and children. She claims that she has always seeked to protect the most vulnerable in society, but aren’t the most vulnerable of all unborn children who do not have a voice? People try to disguise what they are doing with lofty language. They use phrases like “terminate the pregnancy” and “medical procedure” in order to convince themselves that what they are doing is okay. There is only one word for abortion and that word is murder.
On January 10th, 2016 Hillary Clinton was in New Hampshire and spoke at a Planned Parenthood rally. In her speech, she said “I believe we need to protect access to safe and legal abortion not just in principle, but in practice….” For once, we can take Hillary Clinton at her word. She will do anything in her power to further the agenda of the pro-choice movement. She will do anything to put these principles into practice. If that does not scare you, I do not know what will.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.” -Proverbs 31:8
